The 17th CRIS International Conference kicked off today in Ponta Delgada.

At the University of the Azores campus, experts from across Europe gathered to discuss the role of scientific information systems in a world marked by artificial intelligence and open infrastructures.

Under the theme "Reshaping the CRIS role in the context of AI, open infrastructures, open source, and research evaluation," the coming days promise reflection, sharing, and a wealth of knowledge.

The opening session included speeches by the Vice-Rector of the University of the Azores, João Nuno Ferreira, the Vice-President of the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), and the President of euroCRIS – Current Research Information Systems, Jan Dvořák.

The event is organized by euroCRIS – Current Research Information Systems, in cooperation with PTCRIS – Portuguese Current Research Information System, a program of FCCN, the digital services unit of FCT, with the support of the University of the Azores. .
