Institutional Identity in the Scientific Ecosystem
ISNI+ combines the ISNI infrastructure with services from CCC – Ringgold Solutions to provide unique and persistent identifiers for research and development (R&D) institutions. These identifiers ensure data quality and consistency, facilitating the integration of information across different systems in the scientific ecosystem.
How it Works
Consistent Registration of Institutions
The ISNI+ system uses the Identify authority table, managed by CCC – Ringgold Solutions, an organization specializing in institutional identifiers that also acts as an ISNI registration agency. With over 600,000 records, this table is widely used in the scientific ecosystem. Each R&D institution in the ISNI+ system is associated with a Ringgold identifier and an ISNI, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.

Access to the database of R&D institutions
This service allows access to and downloads of the Identify database, managed by CCC – Ringgold Solutions. The Identify database is updated weekly with detailed information on Portuguese and foreign institutions, including ISNI+ codes and other relevant data. Data access is via FTP and can be used to access reliable, complete, and up-to-date data on institutions operating in the academic-scientific ecosystem.

Organization Identifier Bridge
The Organization Identifier Bridge is a service provided by PTCRIS which allows you to obtain all persistent identifiers (PIDs) associated with a scientific or academic institution, from any unique identifier from that same organization.
The goal is to ensure:
• Disambiguation of organizations.
• Interoperability between national and international systems.
